" I have known Steve for about 23 years now. I met Steve when I was 9 years old and he became my first boxing trainer. He trained me until I was about 19 years old and then sent me to train with the Army World Class Athlete Program boxing team in Colorado Springs with one of his former trainers.

Steve teaches you how to out think and outsmart your opponent. It doesn't matter if your opponent is bigger or faster, if you can outthink your opponent your chances of winning increase big time. He can help you study your opponents by watching videos and come up with a fight plan that will give you a great advantage to winning.

That Skill of outthinking your opponent has had a huge impact on my career. i'm not the fastest or strongest guy in my division but I believe I can compete with anyone just by being smart in the ring. And speaking of believing, that is another great reason to have Steve in your corner. He will motivate you, encourage you and bring out the best in you by making you believe in yourself 100%. Having that mentality will make you go a long way in everything you do in life, not just boxing."

He taught me about meditation and visualization. I visualized catching Atif Oberlton (2x National Golden Gloves Champion) with an overhand right. When we fought it happened...I dropped him in the first round! It was crazy!

I recommend learning boxing from Steve, because he teaches you "why" your doing things. He breaks it down and teaches you "when" to throw "which" punch and "how" to throw it.

About the Instructor

I'm Steve Van De Walle and at the age of 18, I was one of the top boxers in the United States of America, with my heart set on making the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team. Up to that point in my career I had won and placed in multiple national championships alongside numerous future stars in boxing including Oscar De La Hoya (92' Olympic Gold Medalist and 11x World Champion), Floyd Mayweather (96' Olympic Bronze Medalist and World Champion) David Reid (96' Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion, Tim Austin and Sergio Reyes (Both Olympians and World Champions) and dozens of other Olympic Medalists and professional World Champions.

Then suddenly everything changed in an instant, when I collided head-on with a double trailer semi-truck. I had a near death experience and was left unable to walk for a year. Nobody believed I'd ever box again, including my friends, family, and boxing trainers.

Never Let Others Decide What's Possible For You. Four years later I won the All Army and Armed Forces Championships (Army-Navy-Air Force-Marines). I became a member of the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program. I also represented the United States of America at the World Military Championships (CISM: Consel International du Sport Militaire).

"I coached Steve when he was in the Army World Class Athlete Program. I always believed that he would one day become a great coach. I boxing there are Coaches, Trainers, and Teachers and they each play a different role. There's a small group of trainers who have the abilities to be all three and he is one of them.

He has the right ingredients to become one of the best coaches in boxing. Steve has a very high boxing IQ along with several other impressive attributes: He has fighting experience, he is well organized and always prepared; he is analytical; a great motivator; excellent communicator; an optimist and most importantly, he has character.

If he continues this journey as a trainer he will become one of the greats."
